About us
Small Enough to Care. Big enough to Cope.
The main workshop for Glassification is run by Liz Sparkes at Rose Mills, Ilminster in Somerset, however our uniqueness lies in our network of glass artists all over the country which allows Glassification to offer a personal one to one service and at the same time to respond flexibly at peak times.
Liz came late to working with glass, although the love of it has been with her all her life.
For me, glass is the closest the human race
has got to alchemy!:) Take some white silica,
mix it with a little lime and a dash of an oxide or two,
pop it in a furnace, and bobs your uncle you have a
material which has all the beauty of gems stones or
any precious metal, but a lot more practical!
With a background in kitchen and bathroom design, Liz immediately saw the architectural potential in glass, particularly with the rise of popularity of glass splashbacks and worktops in the kitchen environment., and wall cladding rather than tiles in a bathroom. Also, as a design professional of many years, she understands very well the pressures of dealing with, and exceeding customer’s expectations. Glassification may only have been founded in 2011, but it’s standing on the shoulders of almost 33 years experience!
We are constantly evolving. New designs are added to our collection almost weekly, so it is always work in progress. Although this site is dedicated to our glass panels for kitchens and bathrooms, as a glass artist Liz also creates sculptures, bowls and platters, bespoke wall and table lights, jewellery, as well as windows.
Her work can be seen by appointment in the studio.
